Terms of sale

Template — please review with your legal adviser before publishing.

1. Bidding

Bidding is open to registered bidders whose accounts have been approved. Each bid is a binding offer to purchase the lot at the bid amount plus the buyer's premium and any applicable taxes.

2. Maximum (proxy) bids

You may enter a maximum bid. The system will bid on your behalf, in the increments shown, only as much as necessary to keep you in the lead, up to your maximum. Maximum bids are confidential. If two bidders enter the same maximum, the earlier bid takes precedence.

3. Timed closing and extensions

Lots close in sequence at the times shown. If a bid is received within the extension window before a lot closes, the closing time of that lot is extended. The server clock is authoritative.

4. Reserve

Lots may be subject to a confidential reserve. A lot will not be sold if bidding does not reach the reserve.

5. Buyer's premium and payment

A buyer's premium, stated on each sale page, is added to the hammer price. Invoices are issued after the sale closes and are payable within 7 days by the methods stated on the invoice.

6. Condition

All lots are sold as seen. Descriptions are statements of opinion and bidders are encouraged to request condition reports before bidding.

7. Collection and shipping

Lots must be collected or shipped at the buyer's expense after payment has cleared.
